USE THE FDCPA TO REMOVE COLLECTIONS FROM YOUR CREDIT REPORT
Reinvestigation
” Is Your Secret Weapon in Credit Repair
Most people don’t know this…
When a credit furnisher (like a credit card company) reports
info to the credit bureaus, the bureaus must investigate
before placing it on your report.
But here’s the trick:
If you later find info that doesn’t match (from a phone call
with the creditor, for example), you can demand a
REINVESTIGATION under the Fair Credit Reporting Act
(FCRA, Section 611).
This forces the credit bureau to review the info again — and
if it’s wrong or unverified, they must correct or delete it.
